We want our partners to look good -
we don´t mind if they look better than us! 
We are always looking for partners that will help us grow and/or help us being able to better kill the pain of our customers.
When developing a partner relationship we always start with our tool "What can we Give?/What can we Get? (adapted from a tool used in many classes at Stanford. Big Thanks to professor Tom Kosnik). When we do have alignment with our partners about Give/Get, we together identify Success indicators, deadlines, and resources needed. We practice what we preach and this is one of the tools that many of our entrepreneurs come back and ask us to do with them again.
